The Founder
Informatica · Computer Music · Sound Designer · Producer · DJ · Tech-Visionary
Before the music, there was code. Matteo Bruscagin studied Computer Science and immediately entered the tech world: developing software in SQL, building websites, and working as a systems administrator. He provided IT assistance for companies and financial sector professionals, assembled and repaired PCs, managed office installations and IT infrastructure. These weren't side jobs — they were the foundation of a technical mind that would later revolutionize everything it touched. The ability to think in systems, to debug, to build from scratch — it all started here.
Born in '83, over twenty years of career built brick by brick. Debuted at Supersonic Privé at 17, following in the footsteps of Robert Miles and Spiller on the same console. In 2004: vinyl "Ghost and Ghouls" (with Sam Perez) enters Paul Van Dyk's UK top chart (then world #2). Releases on Yoshitoshi (Deep Dish), Swift Records (G-Pal), Restart (Bedrock/John Digweed). Strong supporters in South America and UK including Hernan Cattaneo. Key alias Apologist: "Eve" on Wave Music by François Kevorkian defined his sonic identity, taking it directly to his Ibiza performances.
Remix of "I'm Gone" becomes an anthem at Matinée. "Loosing Hope" hammers on Ibiza Global Radio (José Maria Ramón), leading to multi-year radio residency plus Proton and DanceRadio.gr. Sets at Space, Amnesia, Privilege, Blue Marlin, Sand. Villa parties, catamaran afterparties, Sex and Chic events. During these years, Matteo also worked for Ibiza Eivissa TV, synchronizing the full audio of a television program — a trip across the island exploring residents' lives, hidden places unknown to tourists, legendary stories, and the nocturnal nightlife scene. Founded Audiohell with Jimithesun — supported by Danny Tenaglia, released on Nick Curly's label, with Circoloco pillars Tania Vulcano and Jose De Divina. Memorable 6-hour set at Sonar Off.
Connections with absolute pioneers: Giorgio Moroder, Alan Parsons, Robert Miles, Cerrone, Paul Oakenfold, Todd Terry, Skye (Morcheeba). Music in countless physical compilations curated by Cedric Gervais, Sultan, Behrouz, Joe T Vannelli. From DJ Mag inserts to Space Miami CD licenses to Il Muretto. Millions of total CD copies and tens of thousands of vinyls. Sets at Venice Film Festival, sheikh private parties, Benetton corporate events, OVS Industries pre-party at Vasco Bari concert, Zurich Street Parade, UK and Croatia clubs.
In London, collaborates with Nick Whitecross (Kissing the Pink), James Bryan (guitarist for Nelly Furtado/Backstreet Boys), Sasha (Dido's producer) — in the legendary studios where Bob Marley recorded. Back in Italy, builds his dream studio Yellow Garden in a farmhouse in a WWF Natural Park (designed by Andrea Bocelli's engineer). Edits and publishes tracks for X Factor artists (The Panicles, Arsenale's). Executive producer for Antoine ("Pietre" 1979) unreleased Sanremo track. From Swatch ads in Beijing Olympics CDs to Benetton/Sisley compilations to Vincent Cassel cinema selections to Chiambretti Night theme with "Misteralf" project (5th in French charts) and collaborations with Spandau Ballet, Gazebo, Tullio De Piscopo.
"Indian Stories" on Lost & Found (Guy J) — Magnetic Magazine calls it the track that "raises the bar." Supports Adriatique for Siamese label debut with "Agartha Stories" EP. "Drps Classic" (with Visnadi and Guy J) on Lost & Found: record-breaking 180 days at #2 on Beatport Progressive chart. In 2020, "Rain" (feat. Danny Losito) on Diynamic: supported by Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1), Solomun, Rufus Du Sol, Tiësto, Nicole Moudaber, Artbat. Global hit from Tulum to major festivals. In Italy: enters chart directly at #2, supported by Albertino on Dance Revolution on Radio Deejay.
There's a DJ set that has been built in silence. Years of unreleased tracks, collaborations that never left the studio, hours of music that only a few private rooms and a club near Venice have experienced. It's intimate, it's underground, and it's 100% his own. When it plays, you know — this isn't something you'll find on any platform.
Matteo doesn't chase the scene — he is the "old school" where DJs played without the spotlight. Where you don't need to be popular to be famous. While the scene draws inspiration from his past productions, he stays busy building the future: enterprise AI infrastructure, custom AI assistants, and intelligent automation systems. The programmer who became a world-class producer has come full circle — now wielding both code and sound. Because Matteo is, and has always been, a programmer who preserves the codes that give emotions and make us dream.
